There is a lot of chaos for sure, but reaction I’ve seen thus far ignores any consequences and trade offs that are being made.

“Though force can protect in emergency, only justice, fairness, consideration and cooperation can finally lead men to the dawn of eternal peace.”

Dwight D. Eisenhower

Today, I’d like to talk about trade-offs and how they are not being discussed. Then, we can look at other plans and see if we can come to something more sensible and takes all things into account.

To start, let’s look at what a trade off is. Basically, every decision you make means you didn’t make an infinite set of other decisions. Al the decisions you could have gone with instead are a trade off.

Here are some other tactics that are being used:

  • Quarantine only the sick and the susceptible
  • Test everyone who shows symptoms at all
  • Young people go about their business but cleaner and with more Lysol
