Cure sometimes, treat often, comfort always.
With the onset of the opioid epidemic, one that is not new but rather resurfacing, it seems as though our society has forgotten this concept. We should seek to heal the spirit first through comforting and uplifting people, but we simply write a prescription for a useless pill and send them on their way. Evidence shows that not only do opioids not cure pain, but they don’t treat it either.
We need to heal the body in conjunction with the mind and soul to heal the entirety of the individual.
