Yesterday, the historic Cathedral of Notre Dame was all but destroyed in a huge fire. While lamenting the fact that I will now never see that work of art, and all those in it, in the way people have for centuries, I wondered how many people realize all that there is around us to appreciate.

Today, we’ll talk about some of the lessons I’ve learned in my travels about history and the importance of learning it well. Seeing, touching, and hearing the monuments that stand for millennia is incredible and humbling. I’d like to talk about some of my experiences and hope you can share some of your own below.
It is such a tragedy but it’s worth pausing for a moment to recognize how many people have come together or donated in order to restore it. I wish there were enough gravity to approach climate change with the same enthusiasm.
I agree. It’s awesome to see people recognizing its value, beauty, and history. I wish people would see that before it’s gone, and encourage people to explore the relics from the past we still have.
I think there is enough support to talk about confronting climate change. There is an impugning of motives when it comes to that topic that often arises before any headway can be made in the discussion.
