The Holy Cross Order has a principle they call “educating hearts and minds.” In a time when we know more than ever, and the discoveries of the wisest and smartest people are taught to high schoolers, it’s amazing that people are so poorly prepared for life. There is no teaching the importance of family, morality, responsibility or other essential human ideas that make people successful at life- rather than just a career. As a country, we must look to educate the whole person, whether it is the responsibility of the schools that we are forced to go to, or family and community is picking up the slack where government schools always fail. There needs to be for vegetation where we teach kids to be adults that can produce the same results and their kids.
